Back from China after the first competition of the season, and it feels good :) For a long time I wasn’t even sure  was going though, having lots of problem with my back the last couple of months. I was supposed to go to Vienna and compete in October but unfortunately I couldn’t... Now it’s on the right track and my back is getting better every week. I can’t practice fully as I want yet but I’m on the way, I’m really happy to be able to compete again though!

Beijing was great, the competition was nicely executed with the rink and hotel within walking distance. It was also 15-20 degrees during the day, a nice change from the freezing Göteborg... For me it was nice to compete again after some 7 months, the atmosphere and adrenaline made me skate better then I’ve done since my operation (did my first triple Axel since Worlds when I got to Beijing...).

Short went well, but I doubled the Lutz followed by a tripple toe, then I did the triple Axel and Flip. Unfortunately I missed the last spin were I lost some points, but overall it was a good start of the season.

Before the long I was a little nervous, after all it was really the premiere of the new program, but already after a few seconds into the program it felt good as the audience started to cheer :) I did some doubles instead of triples which caused me a lot of points, but the spins were better than in the short. Actually the spins has been among the worst for my back so I haven’t practiced them very much. I managed to skate through the program and I finished in 8th place, down from 6th after the short. I like my new long program and hope you do too... Soon it’s of to Moscow for another try.
