Sorry for not updating after Russia, just been busy preparing for nationals and school... Moscow was alike, we stayed at the same hotel and skated in the same rink as last year so I knew what to expect. Moscow is big and so is the rink, but it’s nicely done and I always enjoy skating in Russia. Short was ok, doubled the lutz but did a great triple axel later. Spins and steps were better then earlier in China so I ended up with 66 points, 2 more than Beijing :) The long went a lot better then in China, far from perfect but I’m getting there... No triple combinations caused me many points but the combinations are the most difficult for me in the start of the season. Finished at 185 points in total, giving me another 8th place, at least I earned some important world standings points... Overall I’m quite pleased with the beginning of the season considering the late start.

Going to nationals I knew it was going to be though, with both Adrian and Alexander fighting for the gold, but of course I wanted to show everyone who’s number one! The competition was held in the great new rink in Linköping, making it feel like a bigger championship. Short went pretty well, doing my first triple lutz of the season, only to later double the flip... But the rest of the program was really good, presentation was probably the best I’ve done this far. The others skated great as well but I held on to the lead at 72 points, Adrian scored 71 and Alexander 69, didn’t I say it was going to be close ;) For the long Adrian pulled out due to illness, and I started the long with a fall. I pulled myself up and did an ok axel and flip. Later I struggled with the combinations again, but this time I went for the triples! I could probably have made more points doing easier combinations (plus instead of minus) but I didn’t want to go safe, I need to step it up in preparation for the championships to come! Alexander didn’t have one of his best days either, and I won at 196 points.
